New Car and the wonders of CCTV and just how crap can some Merseyside Police can possibly be!

Wrote this blog ages ago, didnt finish, but better late than never
This may take some time but read on….I’ve just got a new car, well it’s new old car, and 18 year old Toyota Corolla off Ebay (naturally). But you may be asking “what happened to the beloved Vauxhall Diesel Frontera I bought in late 2006 (again on Ebay).
Well on in the early hours of 29th December last year, at about 6.30 in the morning, there was a loud bang outside, the beloved Sheila moans “sounds like someone has crashed into your car”, so pulls me carcass out of bed and sure enough a there is a ford Mondeo lodged and abandoned into the front of my car. I go down, pee’ed off and try to wake the Neighbour whose car it is, the Police duly turn up and I have to make a statement. produce my documents, (even my licence) as I have been involved in an RTA. I find out that the poor woman across the road (who I later discover is called Sylvia) has been burgled and the thieves have stolen goods (big telly, laptop etc) and tried to steal the car, but alas they didnt get very far indeed.
Anyhow I mention to the Policeman that there is probably a good chance that the factory (liverpool digital) has probably caught the whole thing on CCTV as one of their cameras points in the direction of my seat. I also drive my car around because it doesnt look like much damage has been done, but as the week rolls on the door is slowly bending the wing in and I also notice the Mondeo has sliced into the tyre, plus the front plastic bit (technical phrase) was bent and cracked. So I think maybe Sylvia across the road might want to pay for the damage herself, thereby saving me making a claim. So I go over to see her ask her whether she wants to pay for the repairs, which she doesnt and how is she generally, it’s then I bring up the subject of the CCTV cameras across the road and the Kenny Regen funded ones at the other end of the street. Apparently the ones paid for by Kenny regen “Dont have film in them!?” and the one across in Liverpool Digital wasnt clear. This lAst point turned out to be a blatant lie, as I went over and checked them myself. It very clearly showed four lads carrying the stuff out if the house and coming and going into another house in the street, lovely.
It si also obvious who one of them was and with bit of basic detective work, I found out where he lived what his name is, etc etc. All this while the police are claiming there’s nothing to see.
I’ll let you know whether the police get any sharper
